What is a Qi Men Destiny Chart?
A Qi Men Destiny Chart, also called a birth chart or natal chart, starts from the birth date and time. The birth chart describes long-term patterns, eight major cycles frame the broader stages of life, and annual influences highlight a particular year. It is separate from a Qi Men hour chart cast for one question at the time it is asked.
What does the free chart include?
The free result includes the complete nine-palace birth chart, cycle direction, starting traditional age, and all eight major life cycles. Once the first cycle has begun, and while one of the eight is still active, it also lists the ten annual influences in the current cycle, each showing its palace and major relationship to the active cycle. Charts before the first cycle or after the eighth do not show this section.
How are age and annual influences calculated?
The calculator uses traditional East Asian age reckoning, with birth counted as age one. The report reads the current year by default, so you do not need to choose a separate report year.
What is the difference between a Destiny Chart and an hour chart?
A Destiny Chart uses the birth time to examine long-term patterns, major life cycles, and annual influences. A Qi Men hour chart uses the current or a chosen time to examine one specific matter. Use the Destiny Chart for broader life stages and an hour chart for a concrete decision or situation.
What is free and what uses a report credit?
Charts are free. You can buy the full report separately without a membership, or use an existing report credit. The nine-palace chart, eight major life cycles, ten years in the current cycle (shown while one of the eight cycles is active), and saved profiles are free. Generating a detailed AI interpretation uses one report credit, and the completed report remains available afterward. Each complete report includes 3 dedicated follow-up questions that never expire. They cover that report and its fixed birth chart, separately from general consultation membership.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a membership for the full report?
No. Charts are free. Buy the full report separately without a membership, or use an existing report credit.
How do I read a Qi Men destiny chart?
Start with the nine-palace birth chart, then review the eight major life cycles. Once a cycle has begun, and while one of the eight is active, read its ten annual influences through each year’s palace and relationship to the active cycle.
How does a Qi Men birth chart differ from BaZi, and which is more accurate?
BaZi begins with the four pillars of birth year, month, day, and hour. This Qi Men tool casts a nine-palace chart from birth time, then uses gender to calculate eight major cycles and annual influences. They follow different charting and interpretation systems; this tool does not establish which is more accurate.
How does San Yuan Qi Men differ from a Yin Pan destiny chart?
This tool uses San Yuan Qi Men: it casts a nine-palace chart from birth time and derives cycle direction from the birth-year stem, gender, and Yin or Yang Dun. Yin Pan destiny charts follow a different charting and interpretation method. Read each chart using its own rules rather than mixing their symbols directly.
What if I do not know my exact birth hour?
The calculator requires a birth date and specific time; it has no unknown-hour option. Check a birth record if possible. An estimated time, especially near an hour boundary, may change the chart and subsequent life-cycle reading.
Do the 3 report follow-up questions expire?
No. Each complete report includes 3 dedicated follow-up questions with no expiry, even after your membership ends. Only a complete, valid answer that is successfully saved uses one question. Failures, timeouts, or stopping before completion do not. After a disconnect, refresh to see any saved answer and the remaining count. These questions apply only to that report and its fixed chart, separately from general consultation access.
Can I save charts for relatives?
Yes. Save multiple profiles free; each full AI interpretation uses one report credit.
Does the 30-day plan include a report?
Starting or renewing the 30-day plan grants one report credit valid for 90 days. The 1-day and 7-day consultation plans do not include a Destiny Report.
Will a failed generation use another credit?
No. Once a chart is unlocked, retries for that same report do not consume another credit.
